This position is responsible for mechanical and electrical maintenance of all equipment utilized for the FGD Operation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance work orders on plant electrical and mechanical equipment as schedule requires
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner to keep the plant on schedule. This could include replacing bearings, adjusting equipment, part replacement and repair of damage
  • Monitor all production equipment for operational performance. Work with plant management to improve performance
  • Resolve all electrical and PLC controls problems in a timely manner to keep the plant on schedule. This could include replacing motors, sensors, PLC programing and controls monitoring
  • Learn, follow, and promote all safety regulations of Charah and its customers
  • Keep the assigned area organized and clean
  • Work occasional weekend, holiday, and/or overtime
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • A minimum of five years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment as a mechanic/electrician required
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical millwright procedures preferred
  • Knowledge of PLC’s, process controls, latter logic and Wonder Ware software preferred
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, welding and plumbing procedures preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school or trade school in mechanical and electrical areas preferred
  • Working knowledge of materials, methods, and procedures involved in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance preferred

 

Work Environment & Conditions

  • This position requires a flexible work schedule: nights, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime
  • Must be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to display eye to hand coordination; depth perception required.
  • Must be able to manipulate small parts with hands.
  • Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correction
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Be subject to loud noises
  • Be subject to atmospheric conditions - one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
  • This position requires working in the internal and external environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate
