This position is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all FGD Operations maintenance activities.  This position works closely with the FGD Supervisor to insure emergency and scheduled work orders are performed correctly and with the appropriate level of skills to complete the job.  This position will also control and maintain the parts and materials inventory and keep it stocked at desired levels. 

Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for developing the Maintenance Schedule for the FGD Operation
  • Receives all parts and materials that are purchased through the purchasing process or re-order process associated with the FGD Operation
  • The Planner will attend the Weekly Planning / Scheduling Meeting
  • Process “PR’s” based off the required date and assigned priority:
    • Communicate to the requestor any delays in receiving the requested material
    • Maintain “Stock” item inventory levels thru the re-order process
    • Conduct scheduled / periodic “Cycle Counts” on items stored in the warehouse
    • Make needed inventory adjustments from the cycle count results
  • Ensure vendor contact information is correct in the CMMS for the purpose of:
    • Contacting the sales person for pricing or availability
    • Proper address for purchase orders to be sent to
    • Any time the vendor contact information is changed or updated the new information must be communicated to the Charah, Inc. Accounting Department.
  • Supports the FGD Supervisor in developing planned work during plant downtime
  • Supports the FGD Supervisor in performing repairs outside of the work forces capability
  • Perform training for the workforce to increase their repair capabilities
  • Provides any maintenance training necessary, I.E. bearing replacement, pneumatic systems, pump replacement, etc.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for process control systems (Wonder Ware / PLC’s) and interacts with the Control System vendors when on site
  • Participates as a team member in process improvement projects
  • Assist with preventive maintenance work orders as needed. Train operators when skills are lacking
  • Assists with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues. This could include replacing bearings, adjusting equipment, part replacement and repair of damage
  • Monitor all production equipment for operational performance. Work with plant management to improve performance
  • Assist in resolving all electrical and PLC controls problems in a timely manner to keep the plant on schedule. This could include replacing motors, sensors, PLC programing and controls monitoring
  • Learn, follow, and promote all safety regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • At least five years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment as a mechanic/electrician
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical millwright procedures
  • Knowledge of PLC’s, process controls, latter logic and Wonder Ware software is desired but not required
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, welding and plumbing procedures
  • High school diploma or equivalent with technical or trade school in mechanical and electrical areas preferred
  • Working knowledge of materials, methods, and procedures involved in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance

  • Must be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of time
